The past week has been the thrill of a lifetime. Flying over Los Angeles. Waking up to palm trees. Seeing the wide expanse of the Pacific. Even a jetlagged baby awake for the day at 2:38 am couldn't dampen our spirits. And meeting the first readers at the fantastic Vroman's in Pasadena was beyond amazing. When that first event was over and I hummed with adrenaline and happiness, I could already tell I wouldn't want this tour to ever end.

I just finished your book this morning, and I LOVED it! What a beautiful story. Thank you for sharing it all and writing it so well. Now I have to get started on the long list of recipes I noted while reading…

I couldn’t find your book locally, so I bought it for my Kindle and read it in one day. I, too, loved it and noted many recipes to try. As always in a book like yours, it’s the things that are mentioned but not in the book I’m interested in: braised chicken with red and yellow peppers, pork chops with lemon slices and two things you mentioned that you didn’t get in the book Bienenstich and potato dumplings.
I wondered how Hugo would manage with the time difference.

You’re at Politics and Prose right now! I hope you guys got the chance to enjoy a little bit of all the wonderful things DC has to offer – what did you end up being able to squeeze in while you were here, and what did you think of the city? So sad I missed your book reading today but can’t wait to get your book!

I am halfway through your book and in tears!!! It is comforting to know that someone shares my destiny.. I am also torn between my home both in the United States and Germany..
