If you’re near a computer with high-speed Internet on Saturday afternoon (or evening, depending on where you live), tune in to Tom Douglas‘s radio show on 710 KIRO Seattle to hear an interview I did with Tom and his friend Thierry last week.

Their show is on from 4pm to 8pm, Pacific time. My segment will be aired from 5 to 5:30pm (that’s 8 to 8:30pm, Eastern time). I’ll be listening with my fingers half-stuck in my ears to protect them from the horrors of hearing my own voice.

Hey, that’s fantastic! I’ll do my best to listen in, though that’s getting pretty late on this side of the pond. At least it’s a Saturday!

I’m not sure my computer will do this, but I will try to be there. Very cool, Luisa!
(I too have a problem with the sound of my own recorded voice. I think my horror is warranted, though.
The first time I heard myself, and realized that I have a totally yinzer Pittsburgh accent, I considered a vow of silence.
It was a particularly galling moment, since I had convinced myself that I had an entirely neutral, accent free voice.)

Yay and yay! I’m thrilled for you. I’m afraid I may miss it, because I’m busily preparing for my flight to New York! I leave tonight — whoo hoo. Now, here’s the important question: can I meet you, please?

Luisa, I listened to Tom and Thierry on Saturday. You were terrific and came across very well to the listener. Kudos for a terrific blog. If you make it to the Seattle area, you’ll have to visit Thierry’s Rover’s restaurant and Tom’s Palace Kitchen, Etta’s Flying Fish or the Dahlia. Don’t worry is you miss Tom’s Lola restaurant – it’s the only miss he’s scored!

Thanks everyone – I’m sorry some of you couldn’t tune in due to computer snafus or time zones. It was a fun interview: Tom and Thierry are lovely guys.
Pat – thanks a million. That’s so kind of you to say! I sort of cringed at first, but then got used to my blither-blathering. And yet another reason to visit Seattle, yes. What exactly am I waiting for? Oh right, time.

Luisa, I heard you on Tom’s radio show and you were a great guest. I had to check out your blog, it’s cool and I will definitely check it frequently. I agree with Pat that if you come to Seattle you should check out Tom & Thierry’s restaurants. I would love to hear your opinion of them. Diane
