CGB DC

The Classic German Baking tour rolls on! After a wonderful kick-off event at the utterly charming East City Bookshop in DC (where the above photo was snapped), I baked up a storm for the crowd at  Boston's Goethe-Institut on Sunday. (If you weren't able to get in due to the full guest list, the Institut has several signed copies of the book for purchase – just stop by at 170 Beacon Street. Update: Sorry, all gone!)

And right now I'm on a train to New York, where I'll be launching Classic German Baking at Powerhouse Arena tomorrow at 7:00 pm together with David Lebovitz, who is in from Paris! We'll be chatting about German baking, blogging and everything else, and after a huge response, the guest list has been expanded, so if you'd like to come, please rsvp here. Can't wait to see you!

How fabulous! I am loving my copy! I will just have to pretend it is signed as you have no agenda to come to Atlanta. Boo!

I’m so glad everyone loves your book as much as I do! I’ve already made the Kirschstreuselkuchen (gluten-free!) and Mandelhoernchen and they’ve quickly become “classics” at our house in snowy Edmonton, Alberta. Thank you for all your hard work! I’m getting super excited about my Bunterteller for Christmas!

I have just discovered your blog via David L’s blog. I will get your book as I have German blood, and love German food.
My Grandfather was German with the surname of Weiss. Sorry you couldn’t make it out to California on your book tour. Congratulations on your book!

This is in reply to your posts on Instagram. I, too, felt disbelief and yes, fear, when I saw the results of the vote on wednesday morning. But, Luisa, let us not ever despair. This is the time not to give up but to stand up for what people like you and I believe in. What each of us can do may seem small but it will still be meaningful.
